The summer sun was fierce, relentlessly hot, the already parched ground begged for mercy, or at least a drink of water. The grass was dry and yellowed instead of the lush green the farms fields were in the cooler months. Heat played with the image, radiating off the ground in visible waves.

As it was summer hot weather was expected, but specifically on this day the temperature was at its peak.

“Why is it so damn hot!?” Kacy Shion moaned, throwing his head back yelling to the sky. Sweat trickled off his forehead to the point where he was forced to tie up his shoulder length hair.

“It’s really hot.”- The cry came from the small creature beside him. –“I think I might die.” It panted.

“I don’t envy you Fang’” Kacy looked at the small furry Digimon who was balancing next to him on the old rickety wooden fence.

Fangsimon, was a four-legged wolf-like Digimon with white fur having blue stripes sparingly decorating it. While he was small in stature he had a lot of thick skin and fat covering its body. Large pointed ears sat on his head, between them a small orange horn and most notable, on his front foot instead of a similar foot he had a metal paw

“This is weird.” Fangsimon noted.

“What the heat, I swear it hasn’t been this hot in… I don’t know how long.” Kacy replied.

“No I mean THIS.” Fangsimon corrected him. “How long did you say I was gone? 7 years? And now yesterday I came back and you don’t seem to question why.”

“I’m not really too fussed in figuring it out. You’re back, and I’m really glad you’re back, and that’s all there is too it. If there is some grand mystery behind it then it will eventually get solved wont it?” Kacy said and adjusted his footing on the fence.

“I guess. It’s just weird, I don’t understand it.” Fangsimon looked out at the parched paddock.

Kacy shrugged. “I can’t help you much there. But what else do you want to know little buddy, ask away, because I’m not little thirteen-year old Kacy anymore.”

Fangsimon took a few seconds to think. “Do you still ride horses?” He asked.

Kacy grinned. “Is that not obvious?” He gestured to the field in front of them, that the fence was surrounding, in it there were two horses a dark Thoroughbred and a white Lipizzaner.

“Not really, you’re sort of… posh now.” Fangsimon admitted.

Kacy scoffed before proceeding to laugh loudly. “Posh? You think I’m not ‘wild and free cowboy Kacy’ anymore?” The blue haired boy pushed the Digimon playfully.

Fangsimon fell of the fence and landed on the dry dirt.

“Hey!” He jumped to all fours. “Maybe that was a wrong choice of words.”

Fangsimon jumped upwards, surprisingly high for his looks, and knocked Kacy forward into the horse paddock.

The boy hit the dirty ground, dust spraying his clothes. “I’ll get you for that one.”

He jumped the fence using one arm to swing himself over to Fangsimon’s side and chased the much shorter and slower Digimon until he caught him. Kacy struggled to keep Fangsimon in his arms but managed to lug the heavy Digimon a few meters before he wiggled out and the chase was back on.

Eventually the partners had made their way back to the house on the farm after a few long hours of running up and down the dry hills and fields of the large farm Kacy’s family owned.

“Mum, Dad!” Kacy walked into the house kicking his shoes off at the door. “Leo!”

Fangsimon shuffled in, after carefully wiping his paws on the welcome mat in an appreciated attempt to clean the dirt of them.

“I suppose they’ve gone out.” Kacy wandered into the kitchen looking for a note or something similar on one of the benches.

“Here.” Fangsimon called standing with his front feet up against the fridge his nose brushing a piece of paper stuck with magnets to the white ware.

“’Gone out to get dinner with Dad and Leo. Behave yourself my sweet baby. Love Mum’” Fangsimon read the note in a tone that was similar to Kacy’s mother.

Kacy gave a sigh with a small grin on his face. “They couldn’t have left that long ago.” He took the note of the fridge.

Fangsimon took his feet down and stepped along the fake wood linoleum. “What am I having for dinner?” He perked his ears up higher on his head Kacy didn’t think it was possible for them to go any higher but they did.

“I’m sure mum will get something for you. If not Leo will make sure she does.” Kacy patted his partners head smoothing down his ears at the same time.

“Good, but I am hungry now.” Fangsimon sat back on his bum and rubbed his stomach with his non-metal paw.
“Just go sleep on the couch and wait.” Kacy explained.

The Digimon stood and walked towards the lounge and then lazily flopped on the black leather piece of furniture.
Kacy pulled the band out of his hair, it was already loose from the running around before, his thick hair fell from the ponytail onto the back of his neck were it stuck to his sweat. Kacy sighed. Summer always was a terrible time of year for him and days like today it especially reflected.

He walked down the hallway and came to the mirror and looked at himself.

“Jeez…” He whispered, while he usually would admire himself in this very mirror Kacy was forced to admit that the hot weather wasn’t doing him wonders.

Not only was he and his clothes dirty, they were sticking to his skin, his hair was flat and pulling on his neck. The blue-haired boy pushed his choppy bangs off of his forehead and looked closer in the mirror at his dark hair regrowth.

“Looks like we found a job for tomorrow.” He said to his reflection before continuing down the corridor and into the bathroom to have a shower.

The sound of rustling plastic bags and moving bodies echoed through the house.

Kacy dried his wet hair with a pink towel. “Sounds like dinner’s home.”

With the towel around his neck Kacy wandered back into the kitchen.

Aromas of food filled his nostrils. He hadn’t taken much note of it until he got a smell but Kacy was really hungry.

He sat down on a chair at the dining table and caught his mother’s eye.

She came to his side and planted a kiss on his cheek. Kacy smiled while he accepted it.

“So what’s on the menu?” He looked at the plastic bags in his father’s hands.

“Chinese Takeout.” Kacy’s dad replied.

“You could barely call it Chinese”- the complaint came from the blonde teen boy readying plates and cutlery in the kitchen. –“It’s Western crap that they have developed for our taste buds.”

“Always a ray of pure sunshine little brother.” Kacy teased.

“Yet you can’t ignore the sparkles shooting out of your ass. Nice towel dick.” Leo gave a quick smile in which Kacy replied by poking his tongue out.

Even though Kacy was 4 years Leo’s senior, Leo was the more mature of the two. The brothers usually shot remarks like this at each other but it was all in good fun.

Fangsimon came from the couch and into the kitchen perhaps woken by the conversation or by the smell of food.

His eyes lit up when he saw that a place was being set for him at the table. He happily pulled out a chair with his front paws and dragged himself onto it.

Leo walked past and pushed the chair in with his hip, continuing to place knives and forks next to the five plates he set out.

“I was beginning to think you might forget about me.” The Digimon said licking his lips as ‘Dad’ began to place the plastic containers full with noodles, rice and topped with meats and vegetable on the table.

“We couldn’t forget about you baby.” Kacy’s mother scratched the Digimon behind his ears before she sat down at her own place.

Fangsimon grinned his small barbed teeth showing and then tucked into his long awaited meal.

Dinner didn't last long and the family was soon draped over the funiture in the living room, Kacy's Mother was working the diswasher in the kitchen by pressing the buttons on the front of the whiteware.

“Kacy, Leo”- She called to Kacy and his brother. –“would you boys mind going down the road, the neighbours are having a garage sale and I did promise I would drop by, or at least someone would.”

Leo sighed loudly from the living.

Kacy rolled his eyes lounged atop of the couch.

“Come on Kacy.” Fangsimon said placing his front paws on his partners knees.

“I guess. I’ll take Nox with me he hasn’t been out for a while.” Kacy talked of riding the darker of his two horses.

He stood of the couch and made his way out the front door, Fangsimon bounded along after him.

Kacy moaned looking out at the sky, he assumed it was almost seven but because of the daylight savings hours the sun wouldn’t be down for another few hours, he was grateful, however, that the boiling sun was lower in the sky so the trees around the farm lands casted longer shadows.

The walk to the horse paddock was taking longer than Kacy would have liked, he blamed that on Fangsimon’s slowness as his small Digimon followed him sluggishly as Kacy had adjusted his own speed so his partner wouldn’t be left behind.

“Fang.” Kacy stopped. “Wait here, I’ll get Nox and come back and pick you up.”

Fangsimon caught up to where Kacy had haulted. He sat down a little out of breath.“Ok.” He collapsed onto his stomach.

Kacy hurried forward and in no time got to the paddock, he hadn’t bothered saddling up the black horse and was soon riding bareback back to Fangsimon’s side.

“Alright, you’ll have to sit in front of me, your used to riding on the back of a saddle, or you were. So make sure not to scratch him with your claws.” Kacy stopped Nox next to his Digimon and explained to him.

Kacy hoisted the small wolf up onto the horse from standing on the ground after two useless attempts of trying to pull him up while Kacy still sat on the horse. But eventually the three companions were blazing through the wind as Nox’s hooves galloped along the dry ground directed towards the neighbour’s house which was easily a kilometre down the road.

As soon as Kacy arrived it seemed that something was strange.

He hopped off of Nox and ordered Fangsimon to stay with the horse as the animal happily ate the small amounts of green grass around the neighbour’s gate.

Kacy climbed over the gate and walked up the drive. He could see the garage door was open he could sort of make out tables of old junk and the neighbour lounging behind it all awaiting customers. Kacy doubted he would be getting any being far out of town. Once he was close enough he noticed that the man had thick earmuffs over his ears, Kacy thought it too be odd and not until he got even closer did he realise why the neighbour was wearing them.

Kacy was only meters from the garage, spotted by the neighbour who shifted a bit in his seat, when Kacy heard the noise. It was familiar loud, continuous beeping that he had heard only once in his life. That one time was a few days ago and it had come from the orange device that Fangsimon had been projected from after being lost in it for years.

“Hey! Mr Marsden!” Kacy called out over the noise.

The man stood from his seat, he was round around the middle and his gut hit the table ruffling it dangerous the items displayed on it tipped and moved but none fell off.

Kacy had been neighbours with Mr Marsden and his family for as long as he could remember. Mr Marsden lived with his wife, his daughters were a bit older that Kacy was, they got along on occasion as children, but recently they had moved out and gone to college. Something Kacy had been meaning to do for a while.

“Kacy. I’m guessing your mother sent you?” Mr Mardsen called back walking around the table to Kacy’s side.

“What’s making that noise?” Kacy asked his eyes scanning the junk sprawled in the garage.

Mr Marsden sighed. He bent over and dragged a box out from under the nearest table. The box had written on it ‘toys 1 dollar’. The beeping bleated louder as the box came out.

Mr Marsden grabbed into the box and pulled out a flashing yellow device, a device that Kacy was all too familiar with, minus the colour.

“Damn thing started flashing and beeping a few days ago and hasn’t silenced since, it’s driving me mad.”  Mr Marsden placed the electronic on the table.

Kacy began shoving his hands in the pockets of his shorts looking for money to buy the device he felt in the pocket in the back of his pants, his fingers brushed over a smooth metallic surface, he thought if he should take it out but quickly disbanded the thought and searched the rest of his shorts.

“I’ll take it.” Kacy revealed a dollars’ worth of coins from the front pocket of his bottoms.

“No need.”-Mr Marsden put a hand up. –“take the cursed thing away, you can have it, it’s of no value to me. I trying belting it with the hammer to make it shut up but the damn thing didn’t even scratch.”

Kacy grabbed the flashing yellow device, it felt cool in his hand, it was seemingly made of metal, maybe alloy, but it mustn’t be if it survived a hit from a hammer.

He placed it in his pocket with the coins, the yellow light and the beeping, were visible and audible through the thin material of his pants.

“Thanks. Where did you get it?” Kacy asked.

“One of the girls brought it home from school one day. Thing was silent and blank, I didn’t think much of it.” Mr Marsden explained.

“How long ago was this?”

“I don’t bloody remember, a while.”

“Seventeen years ago?”

“Not that long, seven maybe at most.”

“Ok. Did she tell you who she got it from?”

Mr Marsden shrugged. “She could have found it or was given it, I didn’t question it. But why are you?”

“No reason. Anyway I better get going.” Kacy turned swiftly and briskly walked down the drive.

He thought it to be very strange that the girl may have found the device because he had a good thought that it wasn’t hers.

“Fang!” Kacy called.

He saw his Digimon look up, Fangsimon was sitting next to Nox awaiting Kacy’s return.

“Did you get anything?” Fangsimon said loudly as Kacy still was a distance away.

Kacy quickened his pace and jumped over the gate.

He crouched down to Fangsimon’s side.  “Only this.” He pulled the yellow electronic out of his shorts. “Doesn’t it look familiar?” He placed the still flashing and beeping yellow device on the grass and brought his hand to his back pocket only to reveal another one, only this one was silenced and bright orange  in colour.

Fangsimon’s eye widened as he looked at the new device.

Kacy had released Fangsimon from his own, orange, device days earlier when it had started beeping. He picked up the yellow version of it and pressed the same button he did originally.

Nothing.

He pressed another.

Nothing.

There was no reaction to any of the buttons after Kacy had pressed all of them.

“Hmm...” Kacy pondered.

“Maybe you can’t press it because it’s not yours? Maybe it’s someone else’s who has a Digimon partner. But then you said you’ve never met anyone else with a Digimon, or another Digimon other than me. ” Fangsimon interjected.

“Well I still don’t know where you came from, but I guess it is possible for someone else to have a Digimon.” Kacy irritably admitted, the idea pulled at him a bit that someone else or maybe more than one person also had a Digimon like him, he brushed it off quickly though.

“Come on. We’ll go back home and figure this out.” Kacy stood up from the grass, pocketing the two mysterious devices. He swung his heavy Digimon onto Nox’s back, the horse held his ground not bothered by the Digimon.

Kacy stepped on a nearby post and boosted one of his legs over the horse’s back, he got comfortable before he began leading the horse around and back up the road.

Kacy lightly kicked Nox just under his ribs and the horse quickened it pace to a run.

The Thoroughbred moved swiftly along the dirt road. Kacy enjoyed the feeling of the wind whipping through his hair but he could do without the bouncing on the horse’s bare back.

Fangsimon struggled to keep his balance at this faster pace. Kacy kept one of his arms around his partner to keep him steady on the horse.

The ride was going smoothly and they were nearly back to Kacy’s family’s farm but suddenly Nox reared up onto his back legs sending Kacy and Fangsimon tumbling to the ground.  Kacy’s should blades smashed into the dusty ground first kicking up the dry dirt, then his head rocketed back and hit the road sending stars through his eyes.  Kacy hadn’t fallen of a horse in years and sort of forgot the shock that come with it.

Nox took off jeering to the side and running.

Kacy sat up on his hands, his head swayed as he struggled to regain his configuration. “Nox!” Kacy shouted for his runaway horse.

“Fang!” He remember his partner, he tried looking around for his partner through the kicked up dust and dirt from his fall. It stung as his eyes as he peered through it. He saw his white and blue Digimon humped a few meters beside him.

“Fang.” He tried again crawling towards the small mass, he hadn’t seen Fangsimon take a fall like that he had no idea what to expect.

Kacy brushed his hand along Fangsimon’s dirt fur and the Digimon stirred. “Wha’ happened?” He asked pushing himself of the ground.

“Nox freaked out and took off. He was probably just spooked by something in the grass.” Kacy explained standing to his feet pulling Fangsimon a bit with him so the Digimon could stand on all fours.

Once above the cloud of brown Kacy could see forward up the road and across his farm and noticed what had made the horse jump. He could barely believe what he was seeing his mouth feel open and his eyes widened.

“Fangsimon.” His mouth barely moved from the open position it was in.

“What?” Fangsimon shuffled forward so he could get a better look through the settling mess in the air.

“Why is there a unicorn parading through the paddocks?” Kacy took his eyes off of the horse like creature he could see further up the road.

It was white with a red helmet which had an eye opening which Kacy could only describe as; ‘similar to Cyclops from X-Men’ the helmet was equipped with a fierce horn. Blazing down its back was thick blonde hair sticking up like a Mohawk similar hair made up its tail. To finish off the beast it had large grey wings on its back.

“I think it’s a Digimon, and it’s not parading.” Fangsimon explained.

Kacy noticed after Fangsimon’s explanation that unicorn-like Digimon had caught sight of him and his partner and was now galloping angrily towards them.

“Maybe’s he’s friendly.” Kacy said hopefully.

“I don’t think so.”-Fangsimon watched as the horse made the gap between them smaller and smaller running at an amazing pace. –“MOVE!” Fangsimon pushed his body into Kacy’s legs and sent him tumbling off the road and into the dry yellowed grass out of the larger Digimon’s path.

Kacy stayed down with Fangsimon behind him as the huge horse came charging past. Kacy saw that his orange device, similar looking to a sidekick phone mixed with a Game Boy Advance, has fallen out his pocket and was beside him in the long grass, its screen was no longer black and lifeless, it had a multitude of neon orange bars and symbols on the screen.

Lying on his stomach Kacy reached out his arm and grabbed the device he had a short look at it before he began pressing buttons.

Soon an audible male voice came from the device.

Unimon, Champion Level Digimon…

Unimon turned to the noise and Kacy muffled the electronic but it was too late.

Yellow sparks lit up the Digimon’s mouth before a ball of blue energy formed. “Aerial Attack!”  The voice rumbled from the creature and the blast was sent flying towards Kacy and Fangsimon.

Kacy rolled over and over just before the blast hit where he was seconds before the attack made contact with the ground it fried the ground and jerked up more dust and dirt into the air veiling the area more than before.

“Fang! Come on!” Kacy through his hands down and pulled himself up, his legs had already begun to move, his shoes scuffing the meeting of the dry grass and dirt as he struggled to keep his balance.

Fangsimon tried the same running from his own area he dodged to, but he was slow and heavy and had nothing for speed against the unicorn monstrosity which was busy trying to find the human and Digimon through the cloud.

Kacy had got a few bounds ahead before he noticed his Digimon wasn’t at his side.

“Fang! Let’s go!” He called.

The dust was clearing and Kacy saw his Digimon facing Unimon with a sad yet determined look on his face.

“Aerial Attack!” Unimon charged and fired it’s attack at the smaller Rookie.

Fangsimon took in deep lung full of air and breathed out a frosted strange icy fog to shield him.

Unimon’s blast hit the ‘wall’ of mist hard, sending Fangsimon back he managed to stay his ground though, the blast didn’t disperse or change it remained a blue ball of energy pushing hard against the odd fog wall that was stopping it from smashing into the wolfish Digmon.

“Icy Plunder!” Fangsimon called. The fog circled around the ball of blue taking in its energy. Suddenly the now blue and icy blast was sent back where it came from into Unimon.

Unimon reared back and roared as the attack hit him.

Fangsimon bounded towards the larger Digimon as fast as his small fat legs would allow.

“Horn Iron!” The short horn on his head extended into a metallic looking shard of ice. He rammed the horn into Unimon.

Furiously the larger Champion cried out and kicked Fangsimon hard with its huge hooves.

Fangsimon flew back hitting the ground in a thud.

The battle was continuing as Kacy made his way around it avoiding the stray attacks that flew off course.

He was grateful that the battle wasn’t closer to his house as he was not wanting any damage there.

Kacy was ready to be behind Fangsimon when he noticed a dark horse in the distance. It was Nox.

The horse was loose and could potentially bolt and Kacy might not have another chance to get him back.  But his Digimon might need him he could see that Fangsimon was falling back.

He had no time to make a decission because a tall man was running towards him, a grey creature in his arms. Once the male got closer Kacy realised the thing in his arms was no cat or dog, it was what he believed was a Digimon.

The hazel-eyed man came to a stop next to Kacy and looked out to the battle between Unimon and Fangsimon.
He looked wide eyed once he noticed the situation.

“Is that your Digimon?” The taller man sad as he turned an eyed the device in Kacy’s hand.

“Yeah. Is that yours?” Kacy gestured to the creature in the man’s arms.

“Ferricmon get out there.” He called and the Digimon jumped from his arms and ran on two legs to the battle. “Don’t ask any more questions until this is over.” He said to Kacy his eyes back on the fight.

Kacy had now managed to make his way around the battle closer. He was at Fangsimon’s side, who had taken another fall.
“You can fight?” He was surprised helping his pained partner up.  “So you can beat it. Come on Fangsimon. Send its attacks back it again, you should stay away from its hooves.” Kacy suggested.

Fangsimon nodded. “Who are the others?” He winced as he spoke.

“I don’t know.” Kacy looked up and watched the Digimon, Ferricmon, jump forward and back throwing punches and scratches at Unimon but no actual attack. “But they seem to be on our side.”

The conversation between partners was cut short after Unimon swiftly hit Ferricmon out the way and then lowered its head and charged Kacy and Fangsimon.

Kacy dove out of the way.

“Horn Iron!” Fangsimon’s horn grew once again.

The two Digimon’s horns met with a crack, but the Champion Digimon was to strong and soon manage to overpower the smaller Digimon.

Fangsimon buckled and collapsed down, he slid back being pushed by the stronger creature.

Unimon lifted one of its huge metal hooves and placed it on Fangsimon’s body and pushed down.

Fangsimon cried out as the pressure crushed his small but plump body.

“FANGSIMON!” Kacy yelled out distressed greatly by the cry of his partner.

Ferricmon dove from the side of the battle and sunk the sharp, canine teeth of his skull into Unimon’s front leg.

The horse reared back and released it’s foot off of Fangsimon.

Ferricmon released his bite and dropped to the ground beside the other Rookie and then proceeded to pull him away from the battle.

“Harvey! How much more?!” He shouted as he dragged the weakened Fangsimon.

“Too long!” Harvey called back to his partner.

“I can hold him out!” Ferricmon called before running at Unimon.

He approached the Champion and just before they met Ferricmon fell to his back and slid himself underneath Unimon. Ferricmon threw his back legs up, the sharp bone like spurs on his ankles cut into Unimon’s underside.

The horse Digimon screamed in pain and anger. It began to wildly swing its legs and eventually made contact with Ferricmon sending him away with a strong kick.

Unimon shook its body, seeming sastified it had taken out both its enemies.

It approached Ferricmon, who was lying stiffly on the ground, conscious but was too weak from the daylight and sun to move.

Kacy was at Fangsimon’s side.

“Kacy he needs help.” Fangsimon had righted himself and seemed ready to get back in.

Kacy looked ahead and saw the grey skeletal Digimon in front of Unimon.

He was willing to leave the Digimon but knew Fangsimon well and knew his Digimon wouldn’t leave the other Digimon behind.

“Alright. Go Fangsimon.” Kacy said giving his Digimon a push as a boost for his run.

Fangsimon ran forward ready to attack Unimon when it advanced on downed Ferricmon.

Kacy stood and watched his orange device gripped strongly in his hand.

“You can do it Fangsimon!” He called out to his partner.

The device sprang to life and began making noises and glowing.

Kacy felt his energy drain a bit as the device did its work. He was about to drop before he realised what was happening.
Fangsimon was engulfed in a bright neon orange light, Kacy found it hard to keep looking.

"Fangsimon Digivolve To..."

The light went from being the small size of Fangsimon and increased rapidly to a much greater size. It took the shape of a huge wolf before the light subsided and revealed the new creature where Fangsimon originally stood. It was white like Fangsimon with stripes but the stripes were a shade of darker blue. It was leaner and where Fangsimon was small, short and plump this new Digimon was large, tall and muscular. The metal of its front paw extended to its elbow where wires and pipes connected it to the joint. To finish the fierce looking wolf was a thick tail of blue fur whipping behind it.

"Fortismon!"

“Paining Claw!” The battle cry hammered from the Fortismon’s throat. He pulled his huge, heavy metal paw back and with a grunt of effort swung it forward and smashed it into Unimon’s side.

Unimon took the full force of the blow and went tumbling sideways rolling over multiple times before colliding with a nearby fence.

“Yeah! Go kick it’s ass… Fortismon!” Kacy called to his Champion partner.

“I’ll try.” Fortismon replied.

Unimon managed to stand from the wreck of the fence the wood had splintered and broken into rubble. His large grey wings spread and for the first time in the fight the Digimon took to the air. He soared and began to fly away from the Champion.

Fortismon was ready though and unlike Fangsimon he was fast. He began to run following Unimon closely on the ground.

“Aerial Attack!” Unimon turned in the sky and fired off the attack.

Fortismon dodged it with easy. He took aim at the flying horse’s wings.

“Screaming Ice Beam!” The thin ray of ice shot from Fortismon’s mouth hit Unimon’s right wing and froze it solid on contact.

Unimon was thrown off balance and couldn’t remain airborne no matter how hard it tried, it aimlessly flapped its frozen wing before it fell from the sky into a heap on the ground.

Fortismon wasted no time at was upon the fallen Unimon at once.

“Paining Claw!” He finished Unimon with a strong blow from his metal paw.

The unicorn Digimon burst into data and then there was silence.

Fortismon glowed orange yet again and shrank back down to Fangsimon’s small figure. He fell back into a sitting position and let out his exhausted breath.

Kacy, Harvey and Ferricmon ran to his side.

“Fangsimon that was incredible.” Kacy picked up his partner. “You demolished that thing.” He praised.

“Thanks…?” Fangsimon arched his small orange eyebrow.

“That was… eventful.” Harvey spoke up.

Kacy turned to him. “Now that’s its over would you mind introducing yourself? Just so you know my name is Kacy, and this is Fangsimon.”

Harvey nodded. “My names Harvey, if you heard, Ferricmon and me sensed the commotion and came running. I suppose you heard about the destruction in Downtown? That was me and my brother, we fought a Digimon with our own and he thought it would be a brilliant idea to fight any others. It’s a shame he’s at school he would be thrilled to meet another person with a Digimon.” Harvey explained.

Kacy dipped his head taking in the information. “Wait, you said sensed the commotion, care to explain that?”
Harvey reached into his pocket and pulled out his own red device.

“They have a… I don’t know, app?... that locates Digimon, it’s strange though your partner, Fangsimon?... didn’t show up on here only Unimon did.”

Kacy looked at the orange device still clutched firmly in his hand. “It seems that’s not all there good for.” He recalled that it was the device that had caused Fangsimon’s evolution.

“Also, this might be of interest to you.” Kacy revealed from his shorts the yellow version of the coloured electronics that he only just registered was still flashing and beeping but both men and Digimon seemed to have ignored it during the adrenaline rush of the fight with Unimon.

“It’s not yours?” Harvey arched an eyebrow.

“I got it from the garage sale from down the road. I have no clue whose it is. But I guess there are more than just me and you who are involved in this.” Kacy chewed on his lower lip.

Silence fell between the group.

“I am going to have a hard time explaining this to my parents.” Kacy surveyed the area.

Fences were broken, parts of grass were burnt and large chunks were missing from the dirt road.

“We’ll leave you to it then.” Harvey turned and began walking the other way, Ferricmon followed.
“Wouldn’t it be smart to stay in contact?” Kacy called after him.

Harvey stopped and turned slightly. “They work like walkie-talkies.”- He gestured to his red device. –“Give me a call tomorrow.”

And with that the tall strawberry-blonde man and his Digimon walked away leaving Kacy and Fangsimon to solve their new problem.
