The woman’s heels made a loud crack on each of the metal steps she walked up. The sound was magnified by the fact she was stomping her way up each flight of stairs until she reached the third floor. The brick apartment building was familiar to her, its dark corridors and musky smell it was a lot different to the quality of buildings she was used too.

She eventually came to a door, a door that was supposed to say 26 but the 2 was missing leaving a pale silhouette on the dirty wood where it once was glued. The woman brought her sun-kissed hand with a perfect manicure up to the door and banged on it angrily with her fist.

There was no reply but she could hear the movement and shuffling inside the apartment. She slammed the door again and not soon after she heard the click of a lock and the door swung open. Standing in the door way was a tall man with dark strawberry blonde hair and wide hazel eyes.

“Stevie?” Harvey said to the beautiful girl in front of him.

“What the fuck is going on?!” The question rocketed from Stevie’s pink lips, a strong voice you would not expect from a girl of her image.

“What do you mean?” Harvey remained in the door way.

Stevie looked past him, which proved difficult because of his size. She looked at the images on the TV in the back of the room.

“That is what I am talking about!” She spat before knocking an arm into Harvey’s chest and pushing him out of the way.

She stormed into the apartment and pointed at the TV.

“Do think I didn’t watch this and notice the fact that you and your brother were on it.” Stevie complained looking at the images of destruction at the local High School being presented on the news.

“Just so you know we were there too.” A blue haired man sitting at one of the couches raised his hand.

Stevie shot him a rotten look before turning her face of thunder back to Harvey who was slowly making his way into the room from the door.

“Right.” Harvey sighed.“Kacy, Avan.” Harvey referred to the blue haired male and blonde hippy at the house, beside Bede on the couch. “This is my girlfriend, Stevie.”

Stevie stood with her arms crossed over her chest. She stood in blue high heels at the end of her slim tan legs. She was a short black balloon dress, with stacks of bracelets on both her wrists. Her honey blonde hair sat in ringlets over one shoulder, a streak of hot pink was amongst the girls that sat perfectly past her shoulders. There was no denying that Stevie was beautiful there was also no denying the Stevie knew that.

“Pleasure.” Stevie quickly nodded to the two men though she really had no pleasure in meeting them.

“So are you going to explain this?” She shot her blue eyes like daggers at Harvey again.

“There was some commotion at the school, I went to help Bede.” Harvey explained.

Stevie was not convinced by what he was telling her. “And yet you neglect to mention the monsters that were present!”

Harvey paused. “Yeah that’s different to explain.” He eventually said.

Stevie let out a deep breath and then walked to sit on the couch.“Move!” She bitterly said to Avan.

Avan shrugged and moved off of the couch. “I might make some food. I’ll let you guys sort it.” He walked towards the kitchen.

“Kacy, Bede. Maybe you could join him.” Harvey said through his teeth.

“Am I not invited to enjoy this?” Kacy said.

Bede grabbed the older man by the arm and dragged him off to the kitchen.

Harvey sat down on the couch next to Stevie.

Stevie’s eyes watched the clips on the news, watching the purple and white creature fight with another smaller one. She could see the four males that were present moving around the rumble trying to avoid the fight.

“Are you going to talk to me?” Harvey ultimately said to Stevie.

Stevie kept her glossed lips in a hard line.

Harvey growled. “Please.” He hissed.

Stevie turned to face him but didn’t make eye contact.

“You’re the one who needs to talk about this.” She said ruffling her curls to avoid looking at him.

“I need to talk to you about this? You’re the one who came in her demanding information I said what was happening. Why the fuck do you need to know!?” Harvey dropped his attempt to remain calm.

“Maybe because I care and didn’t want you or your brother being killed by whatever was going on there!” Stevie snapped.

“Stevie. Is everything okay?” A intelligent sounding voice came from the door way leading out to the corridor.

Both young adults turned to look at the door. Leaning around the frame was a grey furred creature. It had rounded ears above its large purple horns with printed feathers sticking out below them. Its voice came from its beak that had large canine teeth sticking out of it. Sharp claws gripped the door frame as it peered around. A long tail curled into the view of what you could see of the monster.

“It’s nothing Gryphusmon.” Stevie smiled slightly and stood to walk over to the Digimon.

“What?” Harvey said lightly.

“This… this is why you were asking me? He’s yours isn’t he?” Harvey followed Stevie and grabbed her by the arm.

His grip was a bit firm and Stevie gasped slightly out of suddenness rather than pain.

“Hey.” Gryphusmon jumped forward from the doorway. He stepped between Harvey and Stevie.

“I have been listening to you two argue. Can’t we sort this out nicely?” He offered a suggestion.

Stevie bent down and picked up the furry griffin like Digimon.

“Yeah we can. So which colour are you Green or Indigo?” Harvey snapped.

“What are you talking about?” Stevie sneered.

After Gryphusmon entered the scene the three males cooking were now more interested with what was going on.

Avan stepped forward.“Your device. Looks sort of like a phone, mysteriously showed up the same time your Digimon did and recently turned back on after 7 years of inactivity and released him from capture. We call them Fuellers, sound familiar?” Avan queried.

“Oh.” Stevie smiled for the first time since she entered the apartment and Avan’s actual helpfulness.

She pulled out a green Fuelled from the bust of her dress and showed the males.“Nice guess for the colour.” She said to Harvey but didn’t look at him.

Kacy stepped forward. “The Fuellers show the other colours. See.” He grabbed Stevie’s green device and pressed the side button to bring up the menus and the coloured dots of the other devices. Recently added to the 5 highlighted colours was Indigo.“Once the devices are turned on the colour lights up. So all together we are guessing there will be 8 people with Digimon partners.” Kacy informatively spoke the words of Avan.

Stevie nodded staring at the flashing menus on the green Fueller.

“Anyway.” Bede said before he walked over the closed door of the apartment’s bathroom. He opened the door and tumbling out came Ferricmon, Fangsimon, Moimon and Shettimon. “We all have one each.”

Stevie arched an eyebrow. “Wait. So you were just about to have a go at me for having a Digimon when you have one too? Why didn’t you tell me?” She turned to Harvey.

Bede rolled his eyes.“You didn’t tell me about… him.” Harvey pointed to Gryphusmon.

“But I’m not off fighting other Digimon in public am I? So it’s not really that important for you to know.” Stevie growled.

“Guys. Look we made grilled cheese so why don’t we sit down, gain a few pounds off of the dairy and talk about this.” Avan suggested.

Gryphusmon nodded in Stevie’s arm and the honey blonde agreed.

Harvey rubbed the back of his neck. “Fine.” He muttered.

The tension between the couple cooled down after a while. Stories were shared by Bede, Kacy and Avan about their experiences with the Digimon attacks and their Digimon partners were introduced. Harvey kept quiet about it. The males told Stevie all that they had learnt about the Digimon’s evolving powers, their abilities and the Fuellers.

“Oh my god!” Stevie suddenly exclaimed after Avan explained his full theory about how many people could have Digimon.

“What?” All the males said in response together.

“At high school. I thought I was mad but I could have sworn I saw a girl with one of these Fuellers. I didn’t believe it because, well, Digimon were my thing, I had one. She couldn’t possibly have one too. But now I guess that is a thing.” Stevie explained.

“Do you remember who?” Kacy asked.

Stevie shook her head.

“How old were you? We might have the year book from that year.” Bede stood from the floor and placed his empty plate on the sink.

“14 maybe 15. It was about 8 or 7 years ago.” Stevie struggled to remember.

“Harvey was at school then. We’ll have the year book.” Bede made his way to his older brother’s room. Not long after he came back with three school magazines.

“Start flipping through them.” Bede said as he opened the first one on the floor next to Moimon.

“Her!” Stevie’s finger pressed to the page.

Avan picked up the book which was opened one of the pages featuring student ID photos, Shettimon sat on his shoulder to get a look at the book.“Bonnie Lyngley.” Shettimon read out the pictured girl’s name.

“Let’s guess she still lives in town or at least her folks might. Do you guys have a phone book?” Avan asked.

Harvey brought the blonde the local phone book and it didn’t take long for Avan to find the last name Lyngley. Bede got a hold of the apartment’s landline and dialled in the one Lyngley number in the book.

Bede had the phone to his ear.

“Hi, this is going to be a bit odd but is your daughter… Bonnie home?” Bede asked the phone.

“She’s not living home. Alright.”

“Do you possibly have a cell phone number for her?”

“Please.”

“A friend (?) of hers from school wants to know.”

“Thanks, thanks so much.”

Bede ran to the kitchen island and jotted down a number on a scrap bit of paper with a pencil.

“Thank you. Have a lovely day. Bye.” Bede took the phone away from his ear and hung up.

He began entering the number that he had written down into the phone.

“Turn it on speaker this time.” Kacy suggested.

Bede pressed a button and with a beep the room filled with the sound of ringing.

“Yes?” A nervous sounding voice came from the phone.

“Ahh… Hello. Is this Bonnie?” Bede asked.

“Yes. Who are you?”

“My name is Bede Norman; you might know my older brother Harvey from High School about 7 years back.”

“Yeah I think I remember him.”

“Great. This might sound a bit odd but a friend of mine, Stevie Gilroy, remembers seeing you at high school with a strange device. Sort of looks like a modern day cell phone but would have been really out of place back then…”

“Stevie Gilroy? I remember her.”

“Awesome. But what about the thing I was talking about?”

“I…I don’t know.”

Bede covered the phone with his palm and whispered to Stevie.

“What colour was it?”

“I think blue.” Stevie replied thinking back to the memory.

“It might have been blue. Lots of buttons didn’t actually appear to do anything?” Bede removed his hand and kept talking into the phone.

“Uhh… I think… I think I know what you are talking about.”

“Fantastic! Do you still have it?”

“It wasn’t mine a friend showed it to me…”

“Who?! Who was your friend?”

“Umm… it might have been…Willow’s, we haven’t talked in a while.”

“Do you have a number? I will ask her.”

“Yeah… but this is really weird… what do you and Stevie Gilroy want?”

“Uhhh… It’s just something that has come up. Can you please its really really important.”

“Alright. But you didn’t get it from me.” Bonnie began calling out a number that Avan wrote down.

“Thanks.” Bede quickly said before hanging up the phone.

“One more call to make and hopefully this one is right.” Bede grinned.

“This will be driving our phone bill mad. If this isn’t right we are done with it because I fail to see the importance of this.” Harvey injected.

“Maybe if we all meet up we can find some answers.” Avan said coolly.

“I don’t give a damn about answers. To be honest it would really benefit me to forget about all of this and let me get on with my life.” Harvey got to his feet.

Ferricmon sighed.

Harvey walked off, tore the door open to his room and shut it behind him.

“I might go and talk to him.” Ferricmon suggested. The current grey furred Digimon walked off after Harvey, being unable to float at the moment.

There was a large pause between the humans and Digimon before Bede spoke up.“So… who wants to call this time?”“I will.”

Gryphusmon raised a paw.

Bede arched an eyebrow. “Alright.” He entered the number Bonnie had told them into the phone and pressed call before placing the phone in front of Gryphusmon.

“Hello?” A soft female voice came from the electronic.

“Yes, good day, I was wondering if you were in possession of a certain item.” Gryphusmon replied.

“What kind of item?”

“It would be small, electronic, blue in colour, possibly has something to do with Digimon.”

“Way to be subtle.” Moimon laughed in the background.

“Whatt?? Um… No. No. I don’t know what you are talking about.”

“That reply sounds to me that you do know what I am talking about.”

“Who are you? Why are you asking me this?” Her voice sounded very defensive.

“Believe it or not, my name is Gryphusmon and currently I am sitting in a room with three other Digimon and human’s that have a device that connects us to them. Now it would be really fantastic is we could meet up.”

“Now he is good.” Avan nodded with a small grin on his face.

Less than an hour later; there was a knock at the door. Gryphusmon had managed to convince Willow to come to the Norman residence after giving her directions supplied by Bede. Willow still lived in town so she agreed to meeting up.

Stevie sat at the kitchen’s island at one of the bar stools picking at her blue nails. Gryphusmon sat on the edge of the bench and watched the door as Bede answered it.

The door opened and revealed a young looking woman, in a rose print dress, she had long brown straight hair and dark eyes which matched her tan skin. She awkwardly looked at Bede before saying.

“Er… Hi I’m Willow?” She nervously waved.

“Great to meet you. My name’s Bede.” Bede beamed. Moimon walked up to beside him strolling on her back legs. “And this is Moimon.” Moimon smiled showing her sharp teeth.

Willow took a quick intake of breath. “Oh… Hi.” She said to Moimon.

“Do you have a Digimon?” Moimon asked curiously.

“Ahh…” Willow stared at the small fox.

“Why don’t you come in first?” Bede stepped out of the door way and pushed Moimon along with him.

Bede directed Willow to the couch where Kacy was sitting; he had Fangsimon curled up on his lap.

“Hey.” Kacy nodded quickly giving Willow a kind grin.

“Hi.” She said as she sat down.

Avan strolled over with Shettimon on his shoulders, soon after Stevie and Gryphusmon came to the small lounge as well. Harvey and Ferricmon remained out of sight.

Willow shuffled uncomfortably and refused to look at Stevie.“First things are first.” Avan pulled his yellow Fueller out of his pocket and showed it to Willow.“Do you have one of these?” He asked.

“Uhh… I did.” Willow replied.

“Did?” Kacy questioned.

“I don’t have it anymore. I don’t know about you, but my Digimon, she disappeared 7 years ago, and the device stopped working.” Willow rubbed her arm with her other hand.

“Well what did you do with it? Gave it to a younger sibling maybe? I am sure we can get it back.” Kacy ran his hands through Fangsimon’s fur.

Willow shook her head.

The humans and Digimon looked at her attentively waiting for an explanation.

“It’s in the school time capsule.” She eventually admitted.

Bede’s mouth opened to say something but didn’t.

It was Kacy who spoke up first. “That’s no problem, we can just go there tonight dig it up and get that out of there and then bang she’s got her Digimon back.”

“It won’t be that easy.” Avan said. “Do you not remember that we totalled the school yesterday? The place is on lockdown, there is no way we are getting in there.” He explained.

“Maybe not.” Bede had a face expressing deep thought.

“The time capsule, it’s buried in the corner of the field, there is a sign for it, and the field only has the one fence. Me and my mate’s jump it all the time. I don’t think whoever is guarding the school would worry about that too much.”

Avan smiled. “Okay then. Maybe this is possible."

Unexpectedly there was another knock at the door. Bede wandered over yet again.

“Wait Bede.” Avan stopped the Bede with his words just before the teenager opened the door.

“The Digimon are sort of standing around in plain sight and I fail to recall knowledge of someone else being invited here; check who it is.” Avan suggested.

Bede placed his eye to the peep hole in the door and the turned away from it quickly and whispered.“It’s some cops.” His amber coloured eyes widened.

“Move the Digimon and you all hide, I’ll handle this.” Avan first went to the kitchen bench and got a hold of a marker pen while Bede and the others ushered the Digimon and themselves into hiding.

Avan pulled his long mess of blonde hair back and secured it into a ponytail with an elastic band that was around his wrist. Next he took the cap off of the marker pen and using his reflection in the door knob he drew a moustache and beard combo on his face. He threw the pen across the room before turning the handle and swinging the door open.

“Good day.” Avan said to the two policemen standing in the doorway.

The first officer raised one eyebrow and gave a look to his partner before answering the odd looking Avan. “Yes, hello sir. This is the Norman residence, right?”

“Like descendants of the Norse Vikings? I don’t believe so.” Avan replied before turning and surveying the house with his eyes for effect. He turned back to the authorities.

“No. This says here the owner of this apartment is Harvey Norman, we are looking for his brother Bede Norman.” The first policeman explained pointing to a list of numbers and names, which was obviously a list of the apartment numbers and residents.

“I can’t say I know either of those gentlemen.” Avan’s eyes darted to the sixth name on the list the man was holding.

“My name is Eirlys Bowen.” Avan said with a peculiar look after registering Eirlys was a female name but kept to his lie nonetheless. “You see. Apartment 6. Eirlys Bowen.” Avan’s finger pressed to the top of the paper aiming at the number 6 and the name across the page from it.

“And…” He took his hand away from the paper and waved it in front of the door, the door which only had a 6 on it.

“This is apartment 6.”The officer looked confused. “The apartment just down the hall is 25.”

“Oh yes, that is a bit confusing. You see they had some renovations in this place back in 1996 after there was a horrible fire down stairs. Apartment 6 was moved here after then. There was a plan to move it back after the place was fixed up but I guess no one ever got around to it. And I am so glad they didn’t. Look at the view.” Avan spun around and presented the window which looked out to the rest of the city.

“Well what about Apartment 26?” The authority questioned.

“I’m sorry officer afraid I can’t help you there. But these poor sods… Norman, must have been evicted from this place because I haven’t seen them around. But if you don’t mind me asking, why are you looking for them?” Avan tried his luck.

“They were assumed to be involved with the commotion that happened at the high school yesterday…” This time the second policeman spoke.

The original officer quickly silenced his partner with a vicious glare.

“Oh yes, that was quite catastrophic I saw it on the news. Was that a monster?” Avan said innocently.

“The information is confidential.” The first officer stated coldly.

“There was another, a few days before around Downtown. I recall seeing it from my great window view.” Avan’s words prodded the policemen for their information.

“I said it’s confidential.” The man of authority repeated.

“Shame I couldn’t get some insight to what is going on around here. These attacks are the first of their kind.” Avan gave a pretend sigh.

“Something else weird is the old Outset Nuclear Station had some activity after years of being inactive, a few hours before the Downtown attack.” The second officer blurted.

The first officer gave another look to his partner.“We should be going now.” He suspiciously looked at Avan and his get up. “Enjoy the rest of your day Mr Bowen.”

“I will do officers.” Avan gave a quick nod.

The first policeman turned and began walking while the second kept his eyes on Avan.

“Is that marker pen?” He asked staring at the badly draw facial hair on Avan’s face.

“Oi!” The call came from down the hallway. Responding to the shout from his partner the remaining policeman took off.

Avan watched the two men leave until they were a good way down the corridor before he shut the door.

“Clear.” He shouted.

The other humans and their Digimon partners spilled into the main room.

Bede and Moimon were in fits of laughter after listening to Avan’s words. The two doubled over on the floor and laughed holding their stomachs. The fact Avan also had drawn on his face only made them laugh more.

Avan pulled his hair from the ponytail. “For some reason I don’t think they bought it. They are going to be back real fast after asking someone else tells them my story was bullshit.”

“So.” Avan raised a pointed finger. “We know something new. Some weird shit is going on at the old Outset Power Station. Stevie, Gryphusmon, Fangsimon and Kacy I’ll give you guys the job of finding out the past of that place, and Willow, I want you, Bede and Moimon to dig up the school time capsule.”

"So what the Hell are you going to do?” Harvey crossed his arms over his broad chest.

"Shettimon and I were going to head off home; I’ve done enough for one day.” Avan admitted.

“Fine.” Harvey nodded.

The sky was very clear tonight, the recent hot weather made sure the atmosphere was cloudless. The moon was bright and sparkling white in amongst the stars. However Bede, Harvey, Willow and the two Digimon had no time to look at the view as they quietly made their way around the fence line of the school. While originally planned by Avan for Bede, Moimon and Willow to go to the school Bede couldn’t go into any potentially dangerous situation without Harvey and thus Ferricmon coming with.

“We’ve checked this place over twice; they seem to only be monitoring the actual school buildings.” Harvey breathed looking at the distance lights on at the high school casting shadows of the diggers and cranes there to fix the damage that was done to the structures.

“Good.” Bede commented. He quickly pulled the hoodie he was wearing off and through it atop of the barbed wire chain link fence that was between the group and the school’s field.

Ferricmon, who was now a brilliant shade of orange floated next to Harvey’s shoulder. “I’ll go first.” He said before turning slightly translucent and slipping through the wire mesh like a ghost. Once on the other side the transparency faded from his body.

“Willow hop over next.” Bede linked his fingers together and hinted for Willow to stand on them.

She responding by putting her pink converse onto the teenagers hand and grabbed the links in the wire with her hands to help pull her up. Bede gave a boost with his strong arms and Willow scrambled over the fence where Bede’s jacket lay. She got over and landed on the dry ground on her two feet, her arms out to hold her balance.

“Alright Moimon, you next.” Bede grabbed his fiery Digimon companion under her armpits and hoisted her up. Moimon steadied herself on top of the fence before she jumped into Willow’s arms.

Bede gave a swift nod to his brother. Bede put his fingers through the wire and pulled himself up of the ground, slamming his feet against the wire he hoped to find some support. Reaching one of his arms up he grabbed the top of his fence, his hands protected from the sharp wire by the jersey, with a heave and a grunt, still feeling a bit of pain from the hit he received the day before, he pulled himself up and over the fence. Hitting the ground hard on his feet Bede quickly turned to watch Harvey doing the same manoeuvre, which looked more difficult carrying a shovel.

His older brother landed on the ground beside him.

The group of five began making their way over to their destination. If it wasn’t for the light of the moon and the small amount coming from the school buildings it would be almost impossible to see what they were looking for.

“It’s over there.” Bede pointed to where a small sign could be seen.

The group ignored the sign and walked behind it.

“Better start digging.” Bede took the large spade from his brothers hands and stuck the metal end into the dry barely grass covered ground. Moimon jumped from Willow’s arms onto all fours. Her paws began tunnelling into the ground as Bede dug.

At first it was easy the ground being so dry, but after a while it got harder.

“How deep did they bury this thing?” Bede wiped sweat from his brow with the back of his hand.

“Here give me a turn.” Harvey grabbed the shovel off of Bede and started working away at a faster pace.

After a few minutes of Harvey digging solo because Moimon had given up, Ferricmon spoke up. “Do you hear that?” He floated closer to the deep hole that had been dug.

Once Harvey stopped moving the humans all listened. From the ground an all too familiar constant beep could be heard.

“We’ve struck gold.” Bede grinned.

The next strike Harvey made hit something metal with a ding.

“Ferricmon get this out of here.”

The orange ghost like Digimon floated down to the bottom of the hole. He scratched with his claws at the remaining dirt until he could get a good grip on the metal capsule. Flying upwards he came out of the trench and with him came the beeping capsule.

“I feel so bad for doing this.” Willow commented cupping her hands over her mouth.

“Yeah well get used to it.” Harvey bluntly commented. “For some reason I don’t think this will be the last time we do something the violates some rules.”

Ferricmon placed the metal box onto the ground near the humans. It was clear that Willow’s device must be inside of it as the beeping was louder now that it was out of the ground.

Moimon pawed the capsule and sniffed it with her black nose. “How are we getting into this? It’s locked.” She asked looking up at Bede.

“That’s where you come in.” Bede patted her head. “Melt it.”

Moimon grinned and nodded excitingly. “Stand back.” She announced.

“Blaze Tails!” Moimon called. Two tails of hot fire sprouted on either side to her own tail which was also engulfed in flames. She performed a quick flip and started bashing the fiery appendages against the metal.

The metal moaned and sizzled under the intense heat. Through the blazing, moving flames you could see that the steel was sporting an ever increasing, melted hole.

“Alright stop Moimon that’s good.” Bede instructed his partner. Moimon’s tail returned to normal and the stepped away from the opening she had made in the time capsule.

A few papers and photos were alight from the fire. Willow picked up a burning picture of a pretty honey blonde teenager wearing a sash that read; ‘High School Queen’ she frowned just before she dropped the picture and watched it burn to ashes on the ground.

Harvey fought the flames with his brown work boot as he rummaged through the burning artefacts following the constant beeping. “Here we go.” He commented seeing a blue flashing light penetrate through the junk.

Pulling his sleeve over his hand he reached in a grabbed the Fueller. Except for being hot from the flames the Fueller was unharmed, there was not a scratch on it.

“I’m assuming this is yours?” Harvey handed the blue device to Willow.

She gasped as she he placed in in her hands, the device was still a little hot it was enough to shock her but not hot enough for it to be untouchable.

“You can press that button.” Bede pointed to the button on the left side of the device.

Willow’s thumb clicked down the green button the younger Norman pointed to. With that the beeping stopped as did the flashing screen. A beam of blue light shot out of the device, Willow squinted trying to see what was happening. The light became a silhouette before fading and revealing a pink creature, it had no limbs just a small mouth and large yellow eyes. It had whiskers on either side of its body just in front of a set of gills. It had purple spikes down its back and similar ones along its stomach. At its rump the creature had a huge fluffy brown tail tipped with white.

“Kaarimon?” Willow said crouching down to look at the Digimon before her.

“Willow!” Kaarimon exclaimed.

Without saying much else Willow gathered her Digimon into a hug, both of them clearly happy to be reunited.

Bede had a small smile on his face but was quickly lost when he saw a distant figure running towards them.

“What are you doing there!?” The male voice shouted at the delinquents.

“Let’s bolt!” Harvey announced.

Willow struggled to her feet with Kaarimon still in her arms and starting running. Harvey ran as Ferricmon swiftly flew beside him. Moimon and Bede were on their heels.

The man, wearing a florescent yellow vest and bright orange construction hat ran after the group.

“Hurry, come on!” Bede called ushering Willow and Moimon over the fence. He looked over his shoulder quickly before attempting jumping the fence himself. Chain link rattled as Bede took far less care than he did when he jumped it the first time. His hands rummaged for the top of the fence and were caught by the barbed wire after not throwing his jersey over it to protect himself. He winced and let out a short breath of pain but wasted no time pulling his body over to the other side. He hit the ground less gracefully than last time.

Harvey was over in the same time, the running commenced as the humans and their Digimon ran down the footpath onto the bridge.

The bridge was an icon of the city. It was black with seven huge arcs along it. The bridge was the only road bridge across the wide river for a few miles so it was usually very busy.

Cars zoomed across the structure while the companions tried to move fast but stay low and out of sight from the civilians.

“Why did we park on the other side of the river?” Willow panted.

“Because we didn’t want anyone to affiliate your car with our wrong doings, turns out that was a bust.” Harvey shouted a reply over the road noise.

Willow stopped. “I… can’t run… anymore.” She said between loud breathes. Kaarimon shifted in her arms.

“Here give me Kaarimon we can keep going.” Bede offered jogging a few steps back.

“I’m sorry… I can’t.” Willow explained.

“Come on Willow, please.” Bede begged.

“YOU!” The man’s voice came.

The group of human’s and Digmon turned to see the sweaty construction worker had followed them the whole way.

“Who do you think you are lingering around at closed grounds, I hope you know you will be report…” The man stopped midsentence and his eyes widen to the point where they looked like they would pop.

Bede looked to the direction the man was staring.Slithering out of the river was a huge blue tail, tipped with a red feather-like fin. Water poured off the sparkling blue scales.

Bede looked in awe as he listened to cars come to skidding halts with squeaky breaks and rubber tired on gravel and people shouting.

“Crap.” Bede commented just before the tail came cascading down onto the road bridge.

It shattered concrete and collapsed cars that had no time to move. Willow fell to the ground as the bridge shook fiercely from the blow still clutching Kaarimon while screaming loudly. The attack smashed through one of the bridges arcs and large chunks of metal fell from the top of the structure. A piece of the arc was on path to collide with a blue Nissan whose occupants were too shocked to do anything but watch.

“Vigorous Fox!” Moimon shouted launching her fiery attack.

The fox shaped blast hit the mass of metal and set it cascading over the side of the bridge and into the water with a great splash.

Bede rushed over to the car and tore the back door open.

“Hurry, get off the bridge.” He said to the people in the front seat as he pulled the children from the back seat. While he was placing a small girl on the ground, from out of the car, to where it was stable and not cracked he heard his older brother call his name.

Bede looked up and saw the form of a great sea monster half out of the water. Its yellow face was distorted and angry looking, its wicked mouth lined with sharp teeth hung open released a constant hiss and its blue eyes were fixed on the teenager.

“Go! Go!” He directed the family in the shortest direction off of the bridge.

“Ice Blast!” The sea serpent called charging an attack in the back of its throat.

“NO!” Harvey’s cry was well heard.

“Dead-Eyed.” Ferricmon hovered between the Digimon sea monster and the teenager.

His pink eyes fixed on its. The monstrous Digimon froze, its mouth hanging open, unable to move while fixated with Ferricmon. With a swift movement of his head Ferricmon’s power tossed the serpent. Its head hit the remains of the destroyed arc. The beast let out an angered cry before disappearing beneath the soft waves of the dark river.

As soon as the threat was gone for the moment Bede went back to helping people out of their cars and getting them off the bridge. The bridge was surprisingly stable even after the hit. But Bede knew the battle was all but over.

Harvey was at his brother’s side. “It’s called Seadramon.” He had his red Fueller out in his hand.

“Where’s Willow?” Bede asked Harvey after giving a quick look around.

“Willow?!” Bede called.

“Over here.” She cried out in reply.

The brother’s shuffled across the rubble and cars on the bridge and found Willow. Kaarimon was standing between the woman and a small green Digimon with a large orange fin on its head.

Betamon, Rookie Level Digimon

Harvey’s Fueller announced. “Another one.”

The Betamon growled and lunged forward.

“Light Surge.” Kaarimon responding sending a blast of electricity from her tail.

It hit the green amphibian and sent it reeling across the blacktop road of the bridge. It struggled back to its feet but regardless of its injuries is jumped forward for another attack.

“Electric Shock!” Electricity began to crackle around Betamon’s body. The lighting flew off him and struck Kaarimon.

The pink Digimon was thrown backwards.

“Kaarimon!” Willow gasped.

“She’ll be okay.” Bede reassured the worried human.

Kaarimon regained her odd posture. The ends of her tail fur began to vibrate and spark.

“Tail Ruin!” She charged her own electricity powered attack. She leapt forward using her tail as a push off and collided her body into Betamon giving it a powerful shock.

Betamon burst into data and disappeared into the air.

Willow smiled but her smile was cut short as Seadramon burst from the river yet again sending a spray of water over the group of humans and Digimon.

“Ice Blast!” This time the Digimon’s mouth attack came quickly.

A beam of frosty blue blasted into the bridge sending concrete and metal flying.

A gaping split cracked the bridge opening a gap. The sudden gap went unnoticed by Harvey until it was too late. His legs fell from under him as he slipped down the split in the road. His knees hit the broken concrete and began gushing blood from great wounds.

Bede threw himself onto the ground and his hands scrambled to get a hold of his older brother. He got a fist of full of material from Harvey’s sleeve and from there got a good grip on his arm. While Bede’s grip on Harvey was good he could feel himself slowly slipping off the road and into the crack, as Seadramon’s attack made it icy and slick. Harvey’s legs dangled high above the rushing river which could be seen through the canyon in the bridge.

“Let go Bede.” Harvey instructed his younger sibling.

“No, are you crazy?!” Bede yelled back.

“I can make it. It’s just water.” Harvey assured.

Bede shook his head and felt Moimon’s soft paws close around one of his legs.

“Willow.” Moimon called to the other human.

When Willow didn’t reply to the fox-like Digimon, Bede turned his head to locate the girl and also to see where Seadramon now was.

Seadramon was being kept busy by Ferricmon, every so often the bridge would shake and with it Bede slipped more.

“-Elp!” A cranky voice said. Bede looked towards it and saw a third Digimon flopped over the edge of the bridge covered in green water plants. A few meters watching it in what looked like fear was Willow.

“-Elp!” It repeated again as it slid its full body onto the bridge.

The Digimon was the shape of a dolphin with ragged fins and stripes on its dark blue body. In its open mouth were rows of teeth ready to snap shut.Bede plunged his spare hand, that wasn’t holding Harvey, into his pocket and got out his grey Fueller. He bent his arm in an attempt to aim at the Digimon and pressed a button.

Dolphmon, Champion Level Digimon

“Damn.” Bede muttered, he didn’t know what he should do. He couldn't leave his brother but there were two champion Digimon ravaging the place, he knew that Ferricmon and Kaarimon couldn’t handle them alone even with Ferricmon at his strongest.

His muscles strained as the weight of Harvey was daunting on him.

“Drop me Bede!” Harvey ordered from his position, swinging under the bridge.

“No!” Bede replied his eyes fixed on his endangered brother.

His Fueller felt warm in his hand as it burst into white light. At the same time Harvey’s pocket began to glow red.

Amongst the background noise it was suprisingly clear to hear Moimon and Ferricmon call.

“Moimon Digivolve To…”

"Ferricmon Digivolve To…”

Within the white light Moimon’s form grew larger. Bursting from the light was a tall Digimon her colours were the same as Moimon’s except she was much greater in size. Her arms were long and tipped with huge black claws. Attached to one of her shoulders was a plate of huge silver spikes fire cracked behind the plate. Her ears grew long and pointed, the grey around her eyes grew into long fur that draped off of her face. Her menacing mouth was grinning with large white teeth.

“Witikomon!” Moimon’s new form shouted.

Similarly Ferricmon’s form burned with a bright red light. His size increased and his silhouette hunched over onto four legs. As the light dispersed it revealed Ferricmon’s evolution. Hovering in the air was a great dog like creature. Long red tuffs on his ears whipped in the wind as did the thick red fur running down his back. Protruding from the fur were large bone spines sticking upwards. His legs were ended with claws and on his back legs were golden rings with purple text. Like Ferricmon his tail was equipped with a large skeletal human hand. On his elbows, knees and scythe like claws at the back of his ankles were mysterious slits.

“Thanamon!” The Digimon called his name, within the dark hollows of his skull face his eyes opened showing his pink iris at the same time the slits on his body blinked to reveal large red eyes.

Bede felt something heavy grip him around his waist. He was pulled upwards, struggling he held onto Harvey. The brothers were hoisted out of danger by Witikomon, who had a large toothy grin on her face. She placed them onto a more stable part of the bridge where they could regain their balance.

“Well, this is going to go well.” She commented before looking over to where Dolphmon was fighting with Kaarimon.

Witikomon raised her arm and aimed at Dolphmon, her claws retracted into her hand.

“Rocket Claw!” With a whoosh of smoke and gun powder her claws blasted from her paw firing into Dolphmon like bullets.

Dolphmon was blasted off of the bridge and into the water below.

Bede had a wide smile on his face, estatic about the new power of his Digimon companion.

Harvey stood close by the teenager but his eyes were watching Thanamon who was still floating in the air fighting of Seadramon. Bede followed his brother’s gaze and watched the spirit Digimon battle the sea serpent.

“Death’s Desolation.” Thanamon’s ghostly voice called. He opened his mouth and a powerful blast of dark red energy blasted from his maw.

The attack hit the side of Seadramon’s head sending the serpent sideways into the already destroyed arc.

“Ice Blast!” The beam of icy power shot from the sea Digimon’s gaping mouth.

Thanamon twisted in air to avoid the shot but unfortunately it still hit the bridge sending it into another dangerous shake.

The brother’s grabbed the nearest leverage and held on.

“Willow!” Bede called to the older girl.

“Yeahh?!” Her nervous voice called back from where Witikomon hit Dolphmon off of the bridge.

Carefully she made her way over to where the Norman’s were. Weaving past bits of rubble and abandoned cars.

“Finish it off!” Harvey called to his partner, while also giving a look to Witikomon.

“Right on boss.” Witikomon replied. She did a marveous dive off of the bridge and soured through the air before landing on Seadramon’s back. She pressed her palms to the monsters scaly skin and called.

“Blazing Abundance!” Hot fire could be seen leaching from between Witikomon’s paws and Seadramon’s back in short bursts. The sea Digimon recoiled in pain letting out a horrible roar.

Witikomon jumped off of its back and landed carefully onto one of the bridge’s arcs.

“Spirit Resolute.” Thanamon called stretching himself in the air.

With a quick growl a wave of ghostly smoke seeped from his body, the attack poured towards Seadramon, smothering him.

From beneath the eerie smoke Seadramon’s cries of pain could be heard as the fog did its work.

Willow shuddered and looked away; she hugged Kaarimon close to her body.

The fog cleared and Seadramon was revealed beneath it, weak and tired looking. Its great form collapsed onto the bridge. Again the structure shook violently threatening to collapse.

“Death’s Desolation.” Thanamon aimed the attack at Seadramon.

With that the sea serpent Digimon exploded into little pieces of pixel data which faded slowly into the air.

“That’s 2 down.” Harvey commented.

“I haven’t seen the other one… since before. Do you think it escaped?” Willow’s voice was shaky.

“I think it will be back.” Bede looked over the edge of the bridge into the water, his ash brown hair whipped in the wind.

“I am back!” A voice shouted suddenly.

“Pulse Blast!” The waves of sonic energy hit Thanamon and knocked him out of the air.

Dolphmon was back on the bridge looking hungrily at the group.

“Pulse Blast!” It called again this time fiering at Witikomon.

The wendigo Champion struggled to fight against the powerful pressure. She couldn’t hold out and stumbled back.

“Lightning Surge!” Kaarimon jumped from Willow’s arms and launched her blast of electricity.

Dolphmon was caught off guard and failed to dodge the attack, it hit it hard and was magnified by its wet body the shock packed a big punch causing it to cry out.

Witikomon was back on her feet running forward.

“Blazing Abundance!” She held her arms out in front of her, fire bellowed from her paws in quick blasts one after the other. Each one found their target, the target being Dolphmon.

Witikomon made a large leap forward and landed on the bridge near Dolphmon. She swung one of her huge long arms and smashed it hard into the dolphin Digimon sending it flying off of the bridge.

While in mid-air Dolphmon’s body burst into data and the fight was over.

It’s done then?” Harvey commented looking out to the river to as if he would see another Digimon.

Bede nodded. “I think so.”

Harvey looked towards his younger brother and noticed a younger boy standing not too far behind him, a cellphone in his hands.

“Are you recording?” Harvey angrily said, he limped past Bede and over to the kid.

Harvey stood tall and intimidating over the preteen; who gave a small nod.

Without much thought Harvey grabbed the phone from the kid’s hands and threw it as far as he could off of the bridge and into the rushing dark water below.

“Alright team. Let’s go.” Harvey turned and began walking, Ferricmon, who was back, floated near him while Bede had Moimon on his shoulders and Willow had Kaarimon in her arms.

“What was that thing saying back there? …Elp?” Bede asked Willow.

“It said Kelp, that’s what the green plant was on it.” Willow explained.

“Oh.” Bede nodded. “Is that all.”
